Solar Canopy

Solar Canopy

The 4,500 sq. ft. weatherproof canopy at the main entrance shelters fans picking up tickets and vendors during events, directly under the transparent PV panels.

Undulating steel ribbons match the massive scale of stadium and the echo the aesthetic of the nearby pedestrian bridges, offering a festive welcome to game day fans and event visitors.

6 eVgo electric vehicle charging stations increase fans’ sustainable transportation choices, allowing fans to park in a prime location close to the stadium to charge electrical vehicles during games or events – or any time.

The eVgo car charging lot solar canopy features columns that slant at a 30-degree angle so that the canopy appears to float over the chargers.

Two solar pedestrian bridges link parking with the stadium. Multi-colored LED lights are integrated between the overhead solar panels create a fun processional experience for Texans, rodeo and other major event fans as they approach the stadium.

Framing the entry to the stadium, the solar pedestrian bridges were an inspired retrofit to existing entry bridges. The new structure dips down before curving back up to cantilever out in a sweeping flare utilizing steel wide flange beams. New “stealth wings” — as dubbed by the design team — on each end of the bridge show off the solar panels and provide a unique entry point into the stadium.
